How to Read Betting Odds
Bettors in Bangladesh typically encounter three types of odds formats. The meaning and calculation of each is explained below in plain language.
Decimal Odds
The most common format. The number shows directly how much you get back in total for every ৳1 bet — including your stake. For example, 2.50 means a ৳1 bet returns ৳2.50.
Fractional Odds
A format from British tradition. 3/2 means a ৳2 bet returns ৳3 in profit. It shows only the profit portion; the stake is separate.
American Odds
A + sign means the profit on a ৳100 bet; a − sign means how much you need to bet to win ৳100.
Decimal 2.50 = Fractional 3/2 = American +150. If the bet wins, you get back ৳1,250 (৳750 profit + ৳500 stake); if it loses, ৳500 is gone.
Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American −400 (American minus odds show how much you need to bet to win ৳100). A ৳500 bet returns ৳625 (৳125 profit).
